New Delhi, December 25: The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, visited Egypt to strengthen ties between the Indian Air Force and its Egyptian counterpart.
The Indian Air Force said that on the first day of his visit, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh was briefed on the operations of the Egyptian Air Force. He visited Birghat Air Base and paid homage at the Heliopolis War Memorial.
On the second day of his visit, the Air Chief visited Cairo West Air Base. He also held discussions with India’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, at India House, Cairo.
The Indian Air Force stated: “Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, is on an official visit to Egypt at the invitation of AVM Amr Abdelrahman Saqr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force. He was briefed on Egyptian Air Force operations, visited Birghat Air Base, interacted with staff, and paid tribute at the Heliopolis War Memorial. On the second day of his official visit, the CAS was at Cairo West Air Base, where the program included a briefing at the Fighter Weapons School, discussions in the simulator complex and operations room, inspection of maintenance workshops, and a static display. He later held talks with Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, India’s Ambassador to Egypt.”
