Srinagar, Dec 30: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Ansul Garg on Tuesday said that snowfall is beneficial for Kashmir and is expected to boost tourist footfall, while asserting that the administration is fully prepared to deal with winter related challenges.

Talking to reporters, the Divisional Commissioner said that weather advisories are being widely circulated down the administrative line to ensure timely preparedness at all levels. He said the administration is ready to respond promptly to public calls and grievances during adverse weather conditions.

Ansul Garg said that all executing agencies involved in snow clearance operations have been activated and are on alert to ensure that roads and essential routes remain functional. He added that the power department has also been instructed to remain fully prepared to handle any disruptions caused by snowfall.

The Divisional Commissioner said adequate buffer stock of essential commodities has already been arranged. He added that LPG stocks have been dumped in advance in border and far flung areas to avoid shortages during periods of heavy snowfall or road blockades.
