Palestinian Minister’s Visit Reaffirms India’s Partnership with the Arab World: Ministry of External Affairs

New Delhi, January 29 (MNN): The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, welcomed Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin upon her arrival in New Delhi on Thursday. Aghabekian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Palestinian National Authority, is visiting India to participate in the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, scheduled to be held in the national capital on Saturday.

MEA spokesperson Jaiswal said that Aghabekian’s visit reaffirms India’s partnership with the people of Palestine and the Arab world. In a post on X, the MEA spokesperson stated, “A warm welcome to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine as she arrives in India to participate in the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. This visit reaffirms India’s partnership with the people of Palestine and the entire Arab world.”

India’s support for the Palestinian cause remains an integral part of its foreign policy. On Saturday, India will host the second India–Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which will be co-chaired by India and the United Arab Emirates.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, foreign ministers of other member countries of the Arab League and the Secretary-General of the Arab League will also participate in the meeting. The foreign ministers’ meeting is being held after a gap of 10 years.
