Muscat, Mar 5: The Embassy of India in Muscat on Thursday issued an advisory detailing visa requirements for Indian nationals travelling to Oman, stating that travellers must obtain a visit or tourist visa prior to arrival.
In a statement, the embassy said, “Travellers must apply for an e-Visa in advance through the authorised travel agents on the Royal Oman Police website.”
On arrival, visa facilities are also available for Indian nationals holding valid visas or residence permits from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, or the Schengen Area. Such travellers can enter for up to 14 days provided they have a return ticket, hotel booking, and health insurance.
The advisory added that Indian citizens residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, and holding valid resident cards are also eligible for a visa on arrival.
However, holders of student resident cards from GCC countries are required to obtain a visit visa before entering Oman, the embassy said.
Travellers have also been advised to ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months when applying for the visa.
