Artists enthrall audience with back to back open air stage plays in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 28 : A well known theatre group “Act for a better tomorrow” enthralled the audience by performing two back to back open air stage plays during the celebrations in connection with the Republic Day function in Srinagar.

The group previously known as “Actors Creative Theatre” performed two open air plays “Jheel Bula Rahi Hai” in Urdu, written by renowned Kashmiri writer Ali Mohammad Lone and “Pagla Ghoda” in Hindi, written by Badal Sarkar on January 26 at the NGO’s Enclave, Chhatabal Military Garrison, Bemina Qamarwari Road in outskirts of Srinagar on January 26.

Both the plays were directed by the renowned Kashmiri artist and state awardee Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan. Khan was one among others conferred with the state Award for his excellent work to promote the art on the eve of Republic Day.

The performances of the artists attired traditional dress were watched by a good number of audience, mostly the youth and appreciated the stage plays.

The Artistes, who performed in the plays are Mushtaaque Ali and Zubair Farooqin “Jheel Bula Rahi hai” and Shahid Mushtaq, Rabiya Shafeeq, Mutayib Nabi, Barkat Ali and Aaqib Haleem in “Pagla Ghoda”.

The group intends to repeat the performance of the play ‘Jheel Bula Rahi Hai’ at Jammu in the coming few weeks.
