Srinagar, Nov 23: Police on Saturday attached properties worth Rs 1.72 crore owned by an alleged drug peddler from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said the multiple properties of Rafiq Ahmad Khan, alias Rafi Rafa, of Trikanjan Boniyar, Baramulla, were attached after it was found that they were acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotics.
The properties attached included a double-story residential house at Chowadhi Jammu and Trikanjan Boniyar Baramulla, Tipper, Trailer, and Scorpio worth Rs 1.72 crore.
“The properties were identified as illegally acquired properties during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by police. The properties were acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler,” a police statement said.
“The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR nr 134/2016 u/s 8/21, 29 NDPS Act of PS Gangyal Jammu,” it added.
Police said this operation reaffirms their commitment to combating the drug menace.
