Blast reported in Delhi Prashant Vihar, one injured

New Delhi, Nov 28 : A mild intensity explosion was reported near the boundary wall of a small park in Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area on Thursday.

“At 11:47 am a call was received regarding an explosion and crowd in front of Bansiwala sweet, Prashant Vihar,” Delhi police PRO Sanjay Kumar Tyagi said.

“Upon receiving the call Local Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Team, Delhi Police Crime Branch, Fire Tender and Ambulance instantly reached the spot at PVR Road, Prashant Vihar” he said.

“One individual suffered minor abrasion. He was instantly taken to the Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital from where he was immediately discharged after receiving First Aid,” an official added.

However, it is not yet clear how and why the explosion occurred.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. Police are questioning local residents and reviewing CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “The public is already living in fear due to murder, extortion, robbery and ever increasing crime in Delhi and today an explosion has taken place.”

“Everyone has the right to live comfortably and safely in Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah ji, please wake up from sleep and fulfill your responsibility,” he said.
