BSF Kashmir frontier celebrate International Yoga Day with enthusiasm

 

Srinagar, June 21: Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day at different units, including the forward location and Line of Control (LoC) enthusiastically in Kashmir Valley on Friday.

In a press release, BSF said that different units, including forward locations/LoC various activities by the BSF Kashmir Frontier with the active participation of troops, schoolchildren, and the civil population.

The main function of Yoga was organised at STC BSF/ Ftr HQrs, Humhama Campus Srinagar, with participation from all ranks.

“Yoga is an integral part of the daily routine and training in BSF. Since grounds and gyms are not available at most locations of BSF in Kashmir Frontier, yoga proves to be critical for keeping troops physically fit, mentally alert, and operationally efficient,” they said.

They said a month-long streak of various yoga sessions and activities culminated with the celebration of the 10th International Day of Yoga, which was observed in different BSF units across the Kashmir valley.

The variety of events organised during the month-long celebrations were yoga sessions, debates, Quizzes, Yoga competitions, and lectures and seminars about benefits of Yoga including an Awareness Rally.

Meanwhile, the 10 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), stationed at Batmaloo, Srinagar, also observes International Yoga Day’2024 with a remarkable display of dedication, resilience and great enthusiasm.

Despite their ongoing security commitments in the valley, the officials/officers of the SSB have embraced yoga as a part of their daily routine, practicing diligently for the past ten days to be ready for International Yoga Day’24.

On this occasion, officials and officers of this unit, under the leadership of Rohitashwa, Commandant, 10 Bn SSB, also participated in the Yoga along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at SKICC, Srinagar.

“Being away from home, practicing yoga helps our soldiers lead a stress-free, healthy life. It not only enhances physical fitness but also promotes mental clarity and emotional stability,” the commandant said.
