Ex-militants campaigning for NC, PDP: alleges Ram Madhav

Srinagar, Sep 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election in-charge for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls Ram Madhav on Wednesday alleged that former militants are openly campaigning for National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Madhav urged voters of J&K- that is going to polls after a decade and first time after the abrogation of Article 370- to reject these parties that have caused them misery over the past 40 years.

“I want to remind people that the manifestoes released by the National Conference, PDP and others will take J&K back to the old days and old problems.

They are openly taking the support of militants to fight the elections. I am seeing that former militants are supporting and campaigning for National Conference and PDP candidates,” he told media persons in Srinagar, while accompanying party candidate Engineer Aijaz Hussain who filed his nomination papers from the Lal Chowk constituency.

“We have to defeat such parties. Jammu and Kashmir will see a government being formed under the leadership of the BJP,” he added.

The senior BJP leader predicted the emergence of new leadership in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Those who want peace, who don’t support terrorism at all, and who want development, such parties and leaders will emerge in the Kashmir valley as well during this election”, Madhav said.

He said a new government, led by the BJP, would be formed in J&K.

“A good number of youth are coming forward and they should be supported. This state was under the grip of two families (Abdullah’s and Mufti’s), those two families need to be shown the door,” he said.

Ram Madhav also predicted that the BJP would emerge as the single largest party.

“We will discuss afterwards if there is any other situation,” he said.
