New Delhi, March 10 : Describing the post-budget webinar tradition as a strong example of Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the greatest strength of India today lies in the aspirations of its youth. He noted that young people from villages, towns and cities are eager to innovate and play a meaningful role in building the nation’s future.
The Prime Minister stated that as India moves toward an innovation-driven economy, the country must continuously modernize its education system to fully harness this potential. He also highlighted that lakhs of stakeholders, experts and beneficiaries are participating in these consultative meetings, presenting practical ideas and solutions, thereby giving fresh momentum to the effective implementation of the Union Budget.
Carrying forward this vision, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar emphasized that the true measure of a nation’s progress lies in how effectively it empowers its most vulnerable and marginalized citizens. He said that the announcement of the Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana in the Union Budget marks an important step toward strengthening employment-linked skills for persons with disabilities.
The minister further stated that strong partnerships between the government, industry and civil society will be essential to ensure that skill development translates into dignified and real employment opportunities.
Experts stressed that market-linked skills for persons with disabilities should align community aspirations with industry requirements and integrate them into mainstream education, STEM learning and employment systems. During the discussion, the importance of large-scale inclusive services, accessible training tools, entrepreneurship opportunities, digital platforms and AI-enabled remote work opportunities was also highlighted.
Participants also emphasized the need to promote roles such as organized job-matching systems and accessibility audits for persons with disabilities.
The post-budget webinar on Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana, held on March 9, 2026 at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, focused on creating a demand-driven and industry-linked skill ecosystem. The discussions also stressed special attention to rural areas and the promotion of specialized vocational training through Centres of Excellence.
