Anantnag: An awareness cum education programme under the theme The evidence is clear : “INVEST IN PREVENTION “was organised by Drug Control authorities Anantnag in collaboration with Chemists and Druggists Association Achabal, Kokernag, and Shangus, in which various stakeholders including students of HSS Achabal, Asha workers, Anganwardi workers, chemists of the Achabal, Kokernag, Shangus were educated regarding the steps to be taken for elimination of drug and substance Abuse.

speakers including Drug Control Officers of Anantnag , SDPO Achabal, students of HSS, executive Magistrate, represebtives of chemists of the areas have emphasized the audience regarding various hazards, ill effects of drugs and responsibilities of the chemists and stakeholders regarding eradication of drug cum substance abuse .

Chemists and other health care providers in general were also educated regarding the warning signs and red-flag indicators of substance abuse.

Later on participants pledged an oath to fight against the drug abuse .

A rally comprising of various stake holders was also conducted from Town hall to main chowk Achabal Anantnag.

SDPO Achabal emphased upon the chemists to work with zeal and zest for the betterment of society and mandated the chemists to keep proper vigil on every suspicious addiction related activity and bring same in the knowledge of law enforcement agencies.

Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag emphases the stakeholders to share responsibilities of one and all to contribute in eradication of drug and substance abuse. They were further directed to dispense the pharmaceutical preparations with addiction liability inconsonance with the duly signed and marked prescriptions of the medical Practitioners.
