Srinagar, Sep 5: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah filed his second nomination from the Budgam assembly constituency on Thursday.
Omar filed his nomination papers from Ganderbal constituency too on Wednesday and had pleaded with the voters to safeguard his dignity and honour by electing him from this segment.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister became the first politician to contest from the twin seats in the upcoming assembly election.
Omar travelled to Budgam along with his supporters and filed his nomination papers at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Omar unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election from Baramulla constituency and was trounced with a huge margin by the jailed MP Engineer Rashid.
