667,781 Eligible Voters to Cast votes across 556 Polling Stations on September 18
Anantnag August 20: The Election Commission of India has today issued the notification for elections in seven assembly constituencies of Anantnag. These include 41-Dooru, 42-Kokernag (ST), 43- Anantnag West, 44 Anantnag, 45- Bijbehara Srigufwara, 46- Shangus Anantnag East and 47 Pahalgam.
As per the notification, the nominations shall be accepted no later than 27th August. The nomination papers shall be taken up for scrutiny on 28th August. The poll shall be taken on 18th September 2024.
In the seven assembly constituencies, a total of 667781 persons with 336185 males,
331592 females and 04 Transgender voters comprise the electorate. For the Assembly
elections, a total of 556 polling stations including sixty one special polling stations have been established. Out of these sixty one special polling stations, 33 Model, 04 Green,07 Pink, 07 PWD, 01 Youth and 09 unique polling stations have been designated.
This notification for the first phase of elections sets the stage for crucial Assembly elections in J&K.
Notably, in the recently concluded General Elections to Lok Sabha, Anantnag district witnessed a historical turnout.
