Srinagar, Dec 24 : Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday nominated an eight member committee of legislators to finalize the draft Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the JK Legislative Assembly.

Rather, who is the first Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, shall be the ex-officio chairman of the panel.

The notification was issued by the Speaker in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 363 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The legislators are Mubarik Gul, Saifullah Mir, Hasnain Masoodi all from National Conference; Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami of CPI-M, , Nizam-ud-din Bhat of Congress, Pawan Kumar Gupta and Ranbir Singh Pathania of BJP and Muzaffar Iqbal Khan an independent MLA.

“The committee shall finalize the draft Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly prior to the commencement of the ensuing Budget session,” the notification said.
