J&K police attaches house of drug trafficker under NDPS Act in Anantnag

 

Srinagar, Nov 1: Police have attached a residential house of drug trafficker Javid Ahmad Bhat under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantng district.

Police said on Friday that it has provisionally attached a double-storey residential property belonging to one Javid Ahmad Bhat a resident of Poshkreeri, Srigufwara, under Section 68F of the NDPS Act.

“The property, valued at over Rs. 50 lakh, is linked to on-going investigations under FIR No. 58/2024, where Javid Ahmad Bhat is under investigation for alleged involvement in the illegal possession and trafficking of Codeine Phosphate, a controlled substance with serious health implications”, police said.

Attaching properties linked to drug offenses serves as a stern warning to those involved in illegal activities that they will face severe legal consequences, they added.
