LG Sinha Launches ‘Goonj 2026’ at University of Jammu, Calls for Youth-Driven Innovation

Jammu, Feb 27 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated Goonj 2026, a two-day youth festival at the University of Jammu, highlighting the crucial role of young minds in shaping the future of the nation.

As per a post shared on X by the Office of the J&K LG as per news agency JKNS, the festival is envisioned as a vibrant platform bringing together youth from varied disciplines to collectively “create one future.” The initiative seeks to stimulate intellectual growth, physical vitality and a spirit of innovation among participants.

In the post, the Lieutenant Governor stated, “Today inaugurated Goonj 2026, a unique youth festival at University of Jammu. The two-day event will offer a distinctive platform to youth from diverse disciplines to create one future. The festival will educate the mind, energize the body and ignite innovation.”

Emphasising the transformative power of youth, he noted that empowered young citizens are the architects of tomorrow. He underscored that intellectual depth, creative excellence and innovative leadership are essential for national advancement, adding that nurturing balanced minds and bold innovators is key to achieving sustainable development.

The festival is expected to witness wide participation and serve as a catalyst for creativity, collaboration and leadership among students across Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
