Srinagar, Dec 8 : Members of minority communities held a protest demonstration in Srinagar on Sunday against the alleged targeting of particular communities in Bangladesh.
Holding banners and placards, the members of the communities including women of Hindu, Sikh, and Christians assembled in Srinagar and demanded an immediate halt to targeting the minorities in Bangladesh.
A woman demonstrator during the protest alleged that “ grave human rights violations are being committed with the members of minority communities by targeting their houses, tarnishing the honor and dignity of the women in Bangladesh”.
She said that a memorandum has been sent to the President and the Prime Minister of India through Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha seeking an immediate halt to the violations in Bangladesh.
Another Sikh demonstrator alleged that innocent children are being killed in Bangladesh. He also appealed to the human rights agencies to awaken and take necessary action against the incidents happening against the minorities in Bangladesh.
The protestors also appealed to the Bangladesh government to bring out an amicable way to settle the issues to stop the innocent killings.
The protestors have also launched a signature campaign in solidarity with the victims of the community members of Bangladesh.
