Naidu to be elected as leader of Legislature party on June 11


Vijayawada, June 10: Telugu Desam Party National President and Chief Minister designate N Chandrababu Naidu will be elected as the Legislature party leader on June 11 and he will take oath on June 12.

The TDP and Jana Sena MLAs will meet Governor S Nazeer Ahmad on Monday. TDP sources said that the swearing-in ceremony would be held at 11:27 AM on June 12. State R&B Principal Secretary PS Pradyumna directed the officials to complete the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony to be held at Kesarapalli village, about 15 km from here.

The Principal Secretary flanked by senior officials G Veerapandyan, Horticulture Department Commissioner SS Sridhar, and Krishna district Collector DK Balaji inspected the arrangements on Monday and reviewed them with the officials.

Talking to the media on the occasion, Pradyumna said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of Chief Ministers and Union Ministers would attend the swearing-in ceremony on June 12.

Massive arrangements are being made including the construction of a huge dais, barricading, lighting, and galleries for VIPs and VVIPs. He directed the Horticulture Department officials to decorate the dais with flowers. He directed them to complete the installation of CCTCs and the sound system by Tuesday. The vehicular traffic on the busy Chennai-Kolkata highway would be directed through other routes on the day.
