NC-Cong, PDP nexus with Pak exposed: Jitendra Singh

Jammu, Sep 19: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that there is a nexus between Pakistan and the so-called mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir – National Conference, Congress and the Peoples Democratic party – that has been exposed by a statement of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Asif had stated in an interview that Pakistan and the NC, Congress and PDP are on the same page for bringing back Article 370.

“The cat is out of the bag and the BJP’s stand has been vindicated after the statement of Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif,” Singh said, while addressing a press conference here at BJP media center.

“The NC, Cong, PDP owe an explanation to the nation,” he said.

Dr Singh said that BJP has been consistently saying that NC, Congress and PDP work on the directions of Pakistan.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, J&K BJP Spokesperson and in-charge media center, Arun Gupta were also present in the press conference where

“Our stand has now been vindicated after Pakistan’s Defence Minister’s statement,” he said while adding, “The boycott calls in previous elections used to come from Pakistan and these parties used to form government with just 5 percent to 8 percent turnout,” Dr Singh said.

He said that the NC is responsible for militancy and unrest in Kashmir. “The NC-Congress rigged 1987 elections after which unrest and militancy started in Kashmir.”

“NC leaders including Farooq Abdullah used to go to Pakistan and meet Amanullah and other leaders to devise strategy for taking forward the Azadi movement,” Dr Singh said.

He said that these parties again want to push J&K back into the era of unrest and militancy but the BJP will not let this happen.
