Srinagar, Nov 19: Senior Congress leader and Jammu and Kashmir Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Tuesday said there were no cracks in the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Everyone knows that the National Conference is a regional party and has a regional agenda as their top priority and Congress is a national party”, Mir told media persons after chairing the first meeting of his Dooru Anantnag Constituency in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
Mir said, “You will sometimes hear the words that much of difference will be there but on this pretext, someone will say that there is a wedge or someone is opposing, which will never happen”.
He said Congress is a national party and its things are moving from the national perspective.
“Neither will Congress become the National Conference nor will the National Conference become Congress”, he asserted.
“…but there is an understanding and ideology is similar not today but from decades and on that ideology we contested elections in the past together and helped each other in the government”, the Congress leader said.
Mir earlier chaired the first interactive meeting with the officers at the sub-district level of his Dooru constituency.
He said that for the past ten years, this constituency did not see any development.
