Srinagar, Aug 9: Police cracked a theft case within hours of crime and recovered stolen property by arresting the accused in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Police said on Friday that it received a written application from one Abdul Majeed Kumar a resident of Checksara Khanshaib stating that during the intervening night of August 6/7 2024, some unknown persons entered into his shop situated at Check Shaira and have stolen some items and cash.

On the receipt of this complaint, FIR No:142/24 u/s 331,305 BNS was registered at Police Station Khanshaib and the investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, many suspects were questioned and during questioning, one person namely Farooq Ahmed Ganie aka Dil jaley a resident of Katchpuran confessed his involvement in the commission of Crime.

On his disclosure, all stolen items were recovered along with the cash, from his possession and he was arrested on the spot.

Police said a further investigation has been set into motion.
