New Delhi, December 20: Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Saturday said that with policy reforms, new labour codes, digital innovations and strong exports, India has emerged as a trusted global partner.
Addressing the Global Hindu Economic Forum 2025 on the theme “Building Brand India: Competitiveness in Global Trade”, Goyal said the reform-oriented approach of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for the journey towards Viksit Bharat.
He told the gathering, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is India’s civilisational consciousness, which Prime Minister Modi has made a guiding principle of global leadership.”
Goyal added that India’s growth is not just a story of economic progress but also of a transformation in values and mindset.
In a post on social media platform X, he said, “With policy reforms, labour codes, digital innovations and growing exports, India today has become a trusted global partner, laying the foundation of our journey towards a developed India.”
The minister said that driven by diversification, innovation and strategic trade reforms, India is strengthening its exports despite global uncertainties. This growth reflects India’s resilience, with a focus on high-value products, expanding global partnerships and policy reforms that support a more balanced and globally integrated trade path amid global headwinds caused by disruptions such as US tariff turbulence.
India has signed a series of major free trade agreements, the most recent being a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with Oman, while active negotiations are underway with several other countries. This is expected to further diversify exports, strengthening trade stability, competitiveness and long-term economic security amid global uncertainty.
