Preventive Tree Cutting Halts Traffic in Rajbagh, Authorities Cite Safety Risk
Srinagar, April 1: Traffic was disrupted in the Rajbagh area of Srinagar after authorities removed a tree that was posing a safety risk, officials said.
The road remained closed for over an hour as teams carried out the cutting operation to prevent possible accidents.
Ward officer Shabir Akhoon said the tree had become hazardous and it was imperative to remove it in the interest of public safety.
Commuters faced inconvenience during the operation, with vehicles halted and diverted in the area.
Traffic was later restored after the completion of the operation, officials said. [KNT]
