New Delhi, January 19 (MNN): US President Donald Trump has invited India to join the proposed “Board of Peace” for Gaza, an initiative aimed at ensuring governance, peace, and post-war reconstruction in the region.
The proposed body is part of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan, which seeks not only to address the Gaza conflict but also to establish mechanisms for dealing with future global conflicts.
Countries joining the Board of Peace will have the opportunity to play a leadership role, coordinate international efforts, and mobilize financial resources. For permanent membership, selected countries are required to contribute up to one billion dollars.
Invitations have been extended to several countries, including India, Pakistan, Hungary, Vietnam, and Jordan. While some nations have responded positively, others have adopted a cautious approach.
India has not yet issued an official response to the invitation. However, the offer reflects growing international attention on New Delhi’s potential role in emerging global peace initiatives.
