“70 Driving Licences Revoked in NDPS Cases; Strict Action to Continue”: DC Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 11: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Wednesday said that around 70 driving licences have been revoked in connection with NDPS cases as part of a coordinated crackdown against drug peddling in the district.

Speaking to reporters, DC Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, said that in coordination with District Police Srinagar and allied departments, particularly the Transport Department, a decision was taken in the District Level Committee that any individual found involved in NDPS cases will face legal revocation and disqualification of their driving licence.

“In this process, we have revoked around 70 driving licences. This should serve as an additional deterrent. I urge people not to get involved in drug peddling,” he said.

He further stated that the district administration, along with the police and health teams, will continue to take strict measures to curb the drug menace in Srinagar. — (JKNS)
