Jammu Crime Branch books doctor among others in frauds

Jammu, Aug 26 : Jammu and Kashmir Crime Branch has booked a doctor among several others in fraud and job scam cases worth crores, an official spokesman here today said.
The spokesman said that the Jammu Crime Branch wing has registered four separate cases against doctor, bank manager, government teacher, female fraudster and others for major frauds and job scams involving Rs. 2.62 crore.
He stated that FIR has been registered against one Dr. Liyaqat Ali, a government Dental Surgeon, (earlier posted at Vijaypur) of Gujjar Nagar, Jammu on a written complaint of one Des Raj of Ramgarh, District Samba for duping him of Rs. 21 lakh on the pretext of arranging MBBS seat for his son and securing job in J&K Bank for his nephew.
The Crime Branch has also registered a case against Bank Manager of J&K Grameen Bank namely Amit Dogra of Bandhu Rakh, Jammu on a written complaint of the Chief of Audit, Inspection and Vigilance, Sanjeev Kumar alleging therein during his posting as Branch Head at Rajouri and Simbal Morh, he misused his official position and in connivance with others, misappropriated an amount of Rs. 55 lakh by opening and disbursing amount in various accounts for establishment and expansion of business units which were neither established nor existed.
Similarly, the spokesman said that another fresh case has been registered against government Teacher Jameel Anjum Mir of Narayana Mohallah (Ustad Mohallah), Jammu on a written complaint of Sobia Malik of Batote, District Ramban, alleging therein that accused duped her of total amount of Rs 15 lakh and 45 tolas of Gold worth Rs. 44.10 lakh total duping amounting to Rs. 59.10 lakh on the pretext of providing government job as Professor or Lecturer in Education Department.
The spokesman further stated that another FIR has also been registered on two written complaints from nine victims against the notorious female fraudster of Ramgarh Samba and Daleep Singh of Gurha Brahmana, Bantalab, Jammu on the allegations of duping them of an aggregate amount of Rs. 1.27 crore to provide government jobs.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that four separate cases have been registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu based on the contents of the complaints and preliminary verification reports and in-depth investigations are on.
