New Delhi, Sep 8 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is to represent India at a BRICS Virtual Summit being hosted today by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to discuss the Trump Tariffs.
The Summit is to be held at 4.30 pm today.
The summit has been convened by Brazil, the current chair of BRICS, to discuss the trade disruptions and the sweeping tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, with 50 percent imposed on India and Brazil.
The meeting is being held at the leaders’ level. The primary objective is for BRICS members to forge a common approach in response to Trump’s disruptive tariff policies.
