Daily Parcel Train to Connect Kashmir with Delhi from Sept 13

Srinagar, Sept 12 : In a major relief for fruit growers and traders, Northern Railways is launching a daily time-tabled parcel train from Budgam in Kashmir Valley to Adarsh Nagar station in Delhi from September 13, 2025.

The service will operate with eight parcel vans and one brake van, offering a reliable, efficient and cost-effective transport facility for fruits and other goods from the Valley to the national capital.

For full parcel vans, online booking can be done through fois.indianrail.gov.in/RailSAHAY. Smaller consignments, including those from small farmers, can be booked offline at the Budgam parcel office without prior registration.

The freight charges from Budgam to Delhi have been fixed at Rs 2.41 per kg, with an estimated delivery time of 24 hours. Officials said this will not only ensure faster transportation but also provide a cheaper alternative for traders.
