Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that they were betrayed in the Rajya Sabha elections and those involved are known to all.
Speaking with reporters, CM Omar, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that it is unfortunate, but he doesn’t want to name those who betrayed as their names are known to almost everyone now.
He thanked the members, especially Congress and others for voting in favour of the National Conference candidates. “I am satisfied that at least not even a single vote from NC didn’t go in vain,” he said.
He added that those who have been in their meetings, enjoying their food, should have openly come up with their decision to support the BJP. “Like MLA Handwara, who opted to abstain as he didn’t want to harm BJP, these members too should have openly supported BJP,” Omar said.
He said that leaders who won Rajya Sabha elections will raise the voice in the parliament. “They will raise their voices on statehood and special status, besides raising voices on different issues,” he said.
He also said that people had a misconception that flowers don’t bloom after summer season in Kashmir.
“After meeting with officials of the Floriculture Department, we concluded that if we can begin the tourist season early by opening the Tulip Garden, we can extend the season with the Gul-e-Dawood garden. I congratulate all gardeners and officials of the department,” he said—(KNO)
