WHO and Ministry of AYUSH Hold Key Technical Meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi, December 22: In a major step towards the global integration of traditional healthcare, the World Health Organization (WHO) organised a two-day technical planning meeting on traditional medicine intervention codes at Hotel Imperial, New Delhi.

To develop a dedicated Traditional Medicine module within the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI), India has facilitated both financial and technical frameworks to mainstream Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani (ASU) systems globally.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to scientifically promote AYUSH systems worldwide. AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha noted that a dedicated ICHI module would enhance global recognition and evidence-based integration of AYUSH systems.
