MMU delegation leaves for Delhi to condole assassination of Iranian leaders, express solidarity

Srinagar, March 26: A delegation of Mutahida Majlis e Ulema (MMU ), the largest conglomerate of Islamic religious organizations in Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday left for New Delhi to offer condolences to the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other prominent leaders and to express solidarity with the people of Iran over the invasion of their country by Israel and the US .
The delegation include it’s patron and Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, Maulana Rehmatullah Qasmi, Aga Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi and Aga Syed Hadi Al-Mosvi,
A statement issued by MMU said that the brutal assassination of the respected and prominent leader of Muslim Ummah has deeply saddened and shocked people across the world, causing tremendous suffering and hardships for the courageous people of Iran .
“The visit is a gesture of sympathy, support and brotherhood with the people of Iran,” it said.
MMU further stated that in these grim times, there is greater need for unity among the Ummah, and collective prayers for peace and stability.
Earlier, leaders from J&K’s ruling party and the opposition visited the embassy of Iran to mourn the death of Ayatollah Khamenei and express support to the country in the ongoing war
Kashmir also witnessed large-scale protests following the killing of Supreme leader, prompting authorities to impose week-long security restrictions.
