Amit Shah in Srinagar to review Amarnath Yatra arrangements

 

Srinagar, May 16 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Thursday for a two-day visit to Kashmir valley, during which he will review arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra, officials said.

The Yatra is scheduled to begin in June.

The Home Minister will also meet the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership and discuss the political development that took place after the conduct of Parliamentary election in Jammu and Kashmir.

He is also likely to meet some delegations from different quarters of the society.

Earlier BJP senior leader and former Minister Sunil Sharma said Shah’s visit is political.

He said people from different walks of life which include Gujjar, Bakerwall, Dal dwellers; civil society members and others can meet him as there will be no meet restrictions in place.
