Amitabh Bachchan undergoes angioplasty in Mumbai hospital

Mumbai Mar 15: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has undergone an angioplasty and was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Friday morning.

In the evening, he was discharged from the hospital and brought home. In the early morning, he was brought into the hospital under very tight security conditions.

According to the received details, the surgery was on the peripheral, not the coronary heart, and the angioplasty was not done on the heart but on some clots in his leg.

Neither the hospital nor the Bachchan family have released a statement yet.

Around noon on Friday, Amitabh Bachchan shared a post on X, the social media app where he is very active. “In gratitude ever,” he wrote.

The post has been flooded with ‘get well soon’ wishes from his fans and well-wishers.

The Sholay actor has been battling a series of minor health issues for some time now. Earlier this year, he had undergone surgery for his wrist. He was also hospitalised for almost a month in 2020 as he battled COVID-19. In 2022, he contracted COVID again.
