India Strongly Criticizes Pakistan in UN Security Council, Condemns Attacks on Afghanistan

United Nations, March 10 : India strongly criticized Pakistan in the United Nations Security Council, condemning the airstrikes carried out in Afghanistan and exposing Pakistan for allegedly supporting terrorist organizations.

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Harish Puri, said in his statement:
“India strongly condemns the airstrikes carried out on Afghan territory. These attacks are a clear violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the principle of state sovereignty. On one hand, there is talk of upholding international law and Islamic solidarity, while on the other hand, ruthless airstrikes are carried out during the holy month of Ramadan. As of March 6, 2026, 185 innocent civilians have been killed — nearly 55 percent of them women and children. This is sheer hypocrisy.”

He further stated that according to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, more than 100,000 people have been displaced due to these attacks.

The ambassador added:
“We reiterate our serious concern over the policy of using trade and transit as a weapon of coercion, whereby a landlocked country is being denied access to trade routes. The UN declarations regarding landlocked developing countries appear hollow in the face of such actions. The trade and transit vulnerabilities of such countries should not be weaponized. This violates the principles of the World Trade Organization, the UN Charter, and international law.”

Condemning these actions, he reaffirmed India’s support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Afghanistan.

Ambassador Harish Puri further said:
“Terrorism is a global scourge against humanity, and only the collective efforts of the international community can ensure that ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and affiliated groups — including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed — as well as Lashkar-e-Taiba’s proxy outfit The Resistance Front, and those facilitating their operations, do not continue to engage in cross-border terrorism.”
