Kolkata, Mar 14 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday sustained a major head injury and was admitted to a hospital, according to the ruling All India Trinamool Congress.

The AITC in a media release showed Banerjee lying on a bed, probably in a hospital, and blood oozing from her head.

The AITC has not given any clarification on how and where she sustained the injury.

“Our chairperson @ Mamata Official sustained a major injury”, the brief statement said along with her photo.

“Please keep her in your prayers,” it added.
