Mumbai, Mar 26: In view of polling will be held in five phases in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra, workers, officials and employees will get a one-day paid leave on the polling day to exercise their right to vote, said a government circular here on Tuesday.

According to the order, workers, officials and employees who are voters in the polling area where the election is held, even if they are working outside the area where the election is held, they will be given ample leave to exercise their right to vote on the day of the election.

Meanwhile, holiday will be applicable to all industrial groups, corporations, companies and institutions, industrial undertakings or other establishments, etc., coming under the Industries Department.

In exceptional circumstances, if it is not possible to give a full day off to workers, officers, employees, then at least two hours concession will be given to them, the circular added.
