Srinagar, Apr 1: Police on Monday booked five alleged anti-national elements under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police identified the accuased as Asif Ali Bhat a resident of Badipora Tangmarg, Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat of Tantraypora Palhallan, Waseem Mehraj Farash alias Waseem Farash of Khanpora, Bashir Ahmad Sualiah of Mohalla Jadeed Baramulla and Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Shakir of Wussan Khoie Pattan.

The accused have been booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, police said.
All five persons have been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur and Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.

“Many cases were registered against them and were involved in disturbance of law and order and subversive activities. Despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their anti-national & anti-social activities”, police said.
