Seven injured in an explosion in Turkey

Ankara, May 19: Seven people, including five police officers, were injured in the Turkish province of Tokat as a result of an explosion in a residential building, Turkish media reported.

Police officers responded to a call in the Hurmuzlu area after complaints from neighbors who were annoyed with the loud noise coming from a house, the TRT Haber broadcaster reported on Saturday.

After the police entered the house, an explosion occurred, but the cause has not yet been established, the report added.

Tokat Governor Numan Hatipoglu said that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
