Shiv Sena (UBT) chief takes dig at Modi

Kolhapur / Ratnagiri, Mar 14: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he has been in power for last 10 years but in every election he gave the next election date for development of the country.

Addressing a public rally this afternoon at Sruganrtali in Guhagar tehsil of Ratnagiri district, he said that even though Modi is in power for last 10 years, he keeps giving next election date for development of the country.

Taking a potshot at Modi, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief said that many schemes are running in the name of PM Modi and now Modi came with another scheme ‘Brashtachari Abhay Yojana’ for those who allegedly committed corruption, guaranteeing safety to corrupt if they come to BJP.

Praising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, he said that there are a few people like him (Justice Chandrachud) in the Supreme Court.

Thackeray said that in current situation, he is the last glimmer of hope for democracy in view of BJP’s plan to change the Constitution of the country and bring dictatorship by coining the slogan of ‘400 par’ for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, he alleged.

He further said that his then undivided party had an alliance with BJP of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani, but today’s BJP led by Modi is different and its brand of ‘Hindutva’ is also different.

Terming today’s BJP as ‘Bhadotri (hired) Janata Party, the Shiv Sena chief criticised those who left the party and joined BJP, saying that people would defeat these ‘gaddars’ (traitors) who stole his party and his father (Balasaheb Thackeray) in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
